Cuerpo extraño en el paladar duro del niño: informe del caso

The presence of a foreign body adhered to the hard palate in children is scarcely reported, and health teams may not know this situation. The difficult physical examination, combined with an inaccurate previous history, can impair and delay the diagnosis. The possibility of swallowing or aspiration of the object can be life-threatening, highlighting the importance of prompt diagnosis. This paper aims to report a case of a twenty-month-old patient who had a foreign body adhered to the palate for 21 days with diagnosis of hyperplasia from food burn or neoplasia. After clinical examination, the foreign body was removed in the dental chair with gentle physical restraint of the child's movements by the team with aid of the caretaker. A proper physical examination is essential to facilitate diagnosis and often simple approaches allow for safe removal of the foreign body.

After clinical examination, the foreign body was removed in the dental chair with gentle physical restraint of the child's movements by the team with aid of the caretaker. A proper physical examination is essential to facilitate diagnosis and often simple approaches allow for safe removal of the foreign body.
