Pilomatrixoma of the head–neck region: A report of two cases and review of the literature
Abstract Pilomatrixoma, also called calcifying epithelioma, is a rare benign tumour of hair follicle cells. The lesion is typically manifested as a single, slow-growing subcutaneous or intradermal nodule, but familial patterns and multiple lesions have been reported. It is basically a pathological diagnosis, and the treatment of choice is complete surgical excision. With proper treatment, the probability of recurrence is low. In this article, we present two cases of pilomatrixoma in the head–neck region along with a literature review.
