Research on Broadband RCS based on Linearly Frequency Modulated Wave

The Linear Frequency Modulated(LFM) Wave has the characteristic of broadband. In the pulse radar system, the LFM wave has a short modulation time and high efficiency, which is a commonly used signal format in radar systems. However, due to its rapid frequency change, the target responds differently to each frequency component within the illumination spectrum, and the spectral distribution characteristics of the scattered echo are significantly different from those of the transmitted spectrum. When it is used as an incident source, it is rather difficult to calculate the broadband Radar Cross Section (RCS), and the electromagnetic scattering characteristics of the target cannot be accurately described. In this paper, the ratio of the square of the magnitude of the incident electric field to that of the scattered electric field is converted into the ratio of the energy of the echo of the target body to that of the incident wave, In this paper, the ratio of the square of the magnitude of the incident electric field to that of the scattered electric field is converted into the ratio of the energy of the echo of the target body to that of the incident wave. Through this conversion, the numerical value of the RCS of the target body is calculated, providing an expeditious method for the calculation of broadband RCS.
