Tele-health and Remote Health Services in Assisted Living

A critical role for tele health and remote health services to improve care in assisted living communities. There are many benefits of these technologies increasing access to care, enabling timely interventions through remote monitoring, reducing costs and improving family involvement. Nevertheless, the effective application requires solutions to some pertinent hurdles like digital literacy among senior citizens, and data protection infrastructure need as well as adherence to legislation. Tele health in assisted living refers to the delivery of healthcare services remotely, using technology such as video consultations, remote health monitoring and medication-management applications. The aims of this manuscript are to enhance care access for residents, minimize hospitalizations, and promote proactive health monitoring. The applications for assisted living are virtual consultations, remote monitoring and medication management. AI and predictive analytics can help with more proactive monitoring, and tailoring the care as per individual capabilities based on predictive health data. Seamless integration between tele health and EHRs could help facilitate healthcare workflows. Enhancements to platforms could help enable more powerful and easier interactions with family members or caregivers. The Gaps in adoption between emerging and developed economies reflect digital health infrastructure and affordability needs in lower-resource regions. Closing these gaps could meaningfully accelerate the attainment of health equity across the world.
