Algorithm for Skin Perfusion Images Based on Photoplethysmography Imaging
Photoplethysmographic imaging (PPGI) is a non-contact optical technique for evaluating skin microcirculation by a video camera. Skin perfusion imaging is the images generated by analyzing blood flow in the skin and can visualize differences in perfusion in different areas. However, displacements of the skin surface due to breathing or body movements, etc., during video acquisition can cause distortions in the images and affect the accuracy of perfusion data. The video stabilization algorithm based on dynamic time warping (DTW) can effectively deal with the motion artifact generated by non-rigid motion during camera acquisition. In this paper, we conduct experiments on self-acquired video datasets. The experimental results show that our method achieves better results in skin perfusion imaging. Meanwhile, this paper analyzes the factors affecting skin perfusion imaging and demonstrates the potential of PPGI in skin perfusion imaging.
