Performance Analysis on Food Supply Chain Using Blockchain Technology

Blockchain technology can revolutionize SCM by looking at its adoption within the agriculture industry. Much of the long-standing problems in traditional SCM systems relate to inefficiencies, a lack of transparency, product counterfeiting, and cybersecurity flaws that disrupt consumer safety and trust. This paper focuses on the integration of blockchain technology in SCM and its main application in the agricultural sector. This innovation, by providing better information exchange between the stakeholders and secure record-keeping with higher traceability, holds great promise for promoting higher trust and responsibility within the supply chain. However, several barriers exist-including legislative uncertainty, interoperability problems, and even a general lack of awareness among the participants in the industry that are creating a delay in the mainstream adoption of the blockchain. Further, this paper also analyzes the future perspective of SCM and Blockchain. Real-time insights, improvements in operational efficiency, and process optimization are better achieved through integrating blockchain technology with IoT and AI. Utilizing these cuttingedge technologies can lead to a major boom in improving food safety, authenticity, and general customer confidence levels in the agriculture supply chain. The last aspect of this research is showing exactly how important it is that these cutting-edge technologies be applied to solve the problems with contemporary supply chain management in the agriculture industry that employs blockchain in the Food Supply Chain to deliver a complete picture of farmers, goods, and merchants. This model provides a blockchain technique and smart contract for checking and certifying many attributes at each stage of the food supply chain.
