Green options for milk packaging using intelligent packaging
Dairy industry is more pushed towards eco-friendly milk packaging due to 3.46 million milk packet waste are generated every day in India. Milk is the salient food included in everyday diet in Indian food chart. In recent decades, India is the considered to be world’s high milk producer with production of 81 million tones. This implies that milk packaging is a rated part in transportation and delivery to consumers, also protect milk from tampering and contamination. The motivation for new innovative packaging due to increase in consumer demand on processed food and expectation of high-quality distribution in logistic sector too. This paper aims on to reduce regular plastic packaging to more renewable, eco-friendly, low-cost packaging. This provides an outline of the various eco-friendly options available for milk packaging, concentrated on low-cost materials that extend self- life packaging of milk. It highlights the environmental challenges posed by traditional milk packaging, such as plastic covers and cartons, and discusses the urgent need to reduce their ecological footprint. Milk packaging forward this concept to modified atmospheric packaging (MAP) and intelligent packing. factors such as new distribution system, automatic handling systems such as milk vending machine which was introduced in 2003 and modern logistics methods lead to establishment of MAP, intelligent packing, and active packing. We incorporated our packaging with bagasse, LA (polylactic acid) and that involved with intelligent packaging and active packing. The ML model using MLNN algorithm helps to predict the quality and shelf life of the product which helps the manufactures to produce quality materials.
