Achieving High Efficiency in Copper-Based Perovskite Solar Cells through Active Layer Thickness Optimization
It would not have been feasible to increase perovskite solar cells' (PSCs') efficiency without discovering, learning, employing and innovating a new material. According to material and device engineering, PCE values are currently higher than 22%. Therefore, research into a stable metal halide perovskite material is imperative. The main objective of this work, which is based on copper-based halide PSK material which known due to its high stability, is to examine a ZnO/(CH3NH3)2CuCl4/Spiro-OMeTAD perovskite solar cell (PSC) investigation of structure by adjusting the thickness of the active layer. Using the Solar Cell Capacitance Simulator (SCAPS-1D) application is one method of modelling the apparatus. This investigation is necessary to determine the device's maximal efficiency and to comprehend how variations in the active layer's thickness affect the device's performance. When the thickness value is acceptable, the maximum PCE is shown. As a result, the PV characteristics of the copper-based cells are as follows: 32.6mA/cm2 JSC, 1.02V VOC, 28% PCE, and 84.66% FF.
