An Aggregate Signcryption Scheme for Heterogeneous VANET

With the rapid development of intelligent transportation systems, Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs) have emerged as a crucial technology supporting wireless communication between vehicles, offering key solutions to alleviate traffic congestion and improve road safety. However, when vehicles communicate across different cryptographic systems, ensuring security properties such as confidentiality, integrity, and unforgeability has become a significant challenge. To address this issue, we proposed an efficient heterogeneous aggregate signcryption scheme. First, our scheme enables wireless communication between vehicles from Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) system to an Identity-Based Cryptography (IBC) system. Second, by aggregating the signcrypted ciphertexts of multiple messages into a single short signcrypted ciphertext, the scheme allows vehicles to verify the validity of the ciphertext through a single verification process of the aggregated signcrypted ciphertext, thereby facilitating quick validation in many-to-one vehicle communication. Finally, through simulating adaptive chosen-ciphertext attacks and adaptive chosen-message attacks, the scheme is verified to meet confidentiality and unforgeability under the random oracle model. Additionally, performance evaluations of the scheme indicate certain advantages in computational and communication overhead compared to similar schemes, achieving more efficient heterogeneous vehicle communication.
