Integrating Multi-Criteria Decision-Making for Improved Congestion Control in Wireless Sensor Networks

The many elements that contribute to the problem of congestion make it a difficult decision-making task. This is because of the complexity of the situation. Since this is the case, the objective of this chapter is to provide a method for the management of congestion that takes use of a well-known MCDM methodology. Using this method, alternative options are evaluated that are based on the relative relevance of a number of factors. The investigation came to the conclusion that cluster heads that were chosen for the purpose of transferring information to the sink node based on a single criterion do not provide acceptable thermal performance. That being said, while selecting a cluster head, it is necessary to take into consideration a number of parameters. Multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) is a process that takes into consideration a variety of conflicting criteria in order to arrive at the most appropriate response. At your disposal are a variety of MCDM approaches. A strategy that we have recommended makes use of the Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) since it is preferable in terms of picking the best choice from a group of options that are competing with one another. The newly developed Security aware congestion control-Fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (SACC-FAHP) method provides pinpoint precision. Compared to Security aware congestion control (SACC), Congestion aware routing algorithm CARA, and Security aware congestion control- Analytic hierarchy process (SACC-AHP), which all have a lower level of accuracy, SACC-FAHP always surpasses each of these methods under every scenario, especially when the total number of unwanted nodes is reduced, with an accuracy of 96.12%.
