Immersive Learning in Healthcare: Development and Implementation of the AR Anatomy Trainer
The incorporation of augmented reality (AR) in healthcare and medical training is transforming the business by offering inventive solutions that enhance education, improve surgical accuracy, and boost patient involvement. The creation and execution of the “AR Anatomy Trainer,” an augmented reality (AR) application specifically developed to provide medical students with interactive and highly realistic anatomical visuals. The curriculum seeks to narrow the divide between theoretical knowledge and applied abilities by employing development tools such as Unity 3D, Blender 3D, Adobe Photoshop, and Vuforia. The AR Anatomy Trainer enables students to visually observe, anatomically dissect, and comprehensively study the anatomy of the human body in an immersive environment, leading to a substantial enhancement in comprehension and long-term memory retention. It also examines various applications of augmented reality (AR) in clinical practice, such as its utilization in aiding surgeons with improved visibility during surgeries, facilitating remote medical training, and enhancing patient education through interactive AR experiences. The literature review encompasses a comprehensive analysis of recent research conducted, with a specific emphasis on the profound influence of augmented reality (AR) within the healthcare sector. The development process is described, highlighting a systematic approach from the first idea to the final implementation, guaranteeing the construction of a user-friendly tool with instructional value. It highlights the potential of augmented reality (AR) technology to enhance medical training and patient care, leading to additional advancements and improved healthcare results.
