A YOLO-Based Aerial Monitoring System for Detecting Waste in Water Bodies
Being a significant environmental issue Water Pollution impacts marine ecosystem and human health as well. Traditional Methods of monitoring water pollution are often time-consuming and labor-intensive. To overcome these problems, an innovative waste detection system for water bodies using aerial images is presented, which employs the YOLO (You Only Look Once) algorithm, that is known for its strength in object detection, made it a subtle choice and resulted in 96% of accuracy. YOLO’s real-time object detection capabilities enable the identification of different waste materials in aerial images with high precision. A User Interface is also made to provide interaction medium. By providing accurate and timely data on waste in water bodies, the system represents a significant advancement in pollution monitoring and improves aquatic environmental health.
