Hybrid Electric Vehicle: Energy Optimization and Emission Reduction for Sustainable Transportation

This paper discusses the critical challenge in the automotive industry concerning fuel efficiency and environmental effects by looking at the improvement in HEV technology. At a time when concern about sustainable transport solutions is being increased, our study takes up a new hybrid vehicle model that has been optimized for energy use with superior control strategies. This motivation arises from the desire to minimize greenhouse gas emissions and increase fuel economy, both critical objectives in the design of modern vehicles. A detailed background analysis is included to focus attention on present shortcomings in HEV technology, including the relatively low efficiency of conventional powertrain arrangements at lower speeds. Our proposed model based on empirical data and simulation results represents a structured improvement approach for fuel efficiency and a decrease in emissions under certain driving conditions. Quantitative performance measures such as percentage increases in fuel efficiency and measured reductions in CO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> emissions would thus serve as proof that the model has a noticeable impact. Unlike previous models, the proposed configuration is capable of automatically switching from electric to combustion modes when at speeds below $30 \mathrm{~km} / \mathrm{h}$ to improve fuel economy. We further establish the effectiveness of the model by comparing its performance metrics to other recent studies in the domain. Information regarding implementation includes hardware and software platforms used for simulation in addition to accuracy and loss metrics for validation of the model. Results are presented and discussed in detail with respect to comparisons over traditional hybrid configurations. The paper is concluded by discussing future opportunities for research and the motivation to develop HEV technologies. All equations, figures, and tables are formatted with standardized conventions for clarity and consistency. These shall be addressed in the succeeding paragraphs, as this paper aims to contribute meaningfully to the sustainable design of the automobile providing a base for further HEV development.
