Maximum Power Point Tracking in Grid Connected PV System Using APSO

Photovoltaic (PV) systems employ maximum power point tracking (MPPT) approaches to optimize the output power of the PV array by continuously tracking the maximum power point (MPP), which is dependent on the temperature and irradiation conditions of the panels. In order to maximize the photovoltaic array's output power under partial shade situations, the maximum power point tracking approach is optimized in this work. Our suggested approach calls for the use of a unique technology called the Look-up table technique to track the maximum power of the PV array under partial shade situations. The Adaptive Particle Swarm Optimization (APSO) algorithm will be used for optimization. The look-up table method yields the resulting curves, which are the I-V and P-V characteristic curves. Investigating the power produced by the proposed APSO-based MPPT versus the conventional PSO method specifically in partial shading conditions reveals that the APSO-based MPPT enables the PV array to achieve the global MPP and helps the PV array produce a more consistent output power compared to the traditional look-up technique. The primary advantage of the proposed approach, compared to a traditional PSO algorithm, is that it avoids getting stuck in local optima and does not require more evaluations of the functions.
