Analyzing the Development of Data Envelopment Analysis Research
This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the development of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) research through a bibliometric approach. DEA, as a nonparametric method in operations research and economics, has seen significant growth and application across various fields since its inception. Utilizing a wide range of bibliometric tools and techniques, this study examines the evolution, trends, and key contributions within DEA research. We analyze a vast dataset of DEA-related publications sourced from prominent academic databases, focusing on publication patterns, influential authors, collaboration networks, and the impact of seminal works. The findings highlight the geographical distribution of DEA research, the most prolific institutions and researchers, and the dominant themes and methodologies over time. By mapping the intellectual structure and identifying emerging trends, this paper provides valuable insights for scholars and practitioners seeking to understand the trajectory and future directions of DEA research. This bibliometric analysis not only underscores the dynamic nature of DEA studies but also facilitates a deeper understanding of its interdisciplinary applications and potential for future exploration.
