Crop safety monitoring using IoT
Farmers encounter several challenges such as adverse weather, floods, water scarcity, soil fertility issues, inadequate irrigation, and soil moisture levels. Farmers may also encounter challenges such as crop fires or flames from surrounding forests, resulting in the loss of all crops cultivated. These are the erratic issues that farmers encounter. This project aims to create smart farming, which includes smart agriculture, smart weather reporting, flood detection, smart irrigation, and a forest fire alarm system that will keep farmers informed before any damage occurs. Smart agriculture includes soil moisture levels, which indicate the quantity of moisture or water present in the soil, as well as water demand levels, which measure the amount of water in the field and how much water is still necessary for the crop and signal if the water level has been exceeded. Smart agriculture also incorporates soil fertility measurements. Farmers can learn about the possibility of flooding ahead of time with the aid of flood detection. The farmer can take precautionary steps to protect his crop by being informed about weather conditions, such as whether it will be sunny or wet, through weather reporting. A fire alarm system aids the farmer in the event that an unplanned crop fire occurs. If a crop catches fire when the farmer is away, the fire alarm system alerts him, allowing him to arrive at the field before it burns down and save the crop. We have determined the main unforeseen problems that farmers deal with on a daily basis and have developed this solution to try to assist them as much as we can. This project aids farmers by warning them ahead of time about unforeseen occurrences and allowing them to take the required precautions before the negative consequences materialize.
