Dual-Band Bandpass Filter for 5G Network and Wi-Fi Communication
This article proposes a dual band bandpass filter (BPF) for 5G network and Wi-Fi communication with wide upper rejection band using folded C-shaped stepped impedance resonator (SIR). This type of resonator improves the out of band performance by generating second transmission zero in upper stopband. By taking proper value of length and width of SIR, the dual BPF with upper band reject from 6 to 13GHz is achieved. The characteristics of filter can be changed by tuning the gap between the resonator. The proposed structure is designed and optimized using HFSS software, and is implemented on Roger 5880 with εr=2.2 and thickness(t)=0.787mm All these features make it suitable for sub 6GHz 5G mobile communication.
