Design of Key-Hole Shaped MIMO Antenna for Multiband Applications

The proposed antenna design consists of four stages each one has distinct output. Four stages of the suggested design leads to progressive rise in gain. It is designed on Flame Retardant4 (FR4) as substrate and εr (dielectric constant) of 4.4 with the height 1.6mm. The designed two port MIMO antenna can operate at desired frequencies with good return loss characteristics for frequencies of 3.9 and 9.06 GHz with the corresponding return loss of -15.70 dB and -26.59 dB. The proposed two port key-hole shaped MIMO antenna operating at 2.06GHz, 3.9GHz, 9.06GHz and 14.58GHz and provides return loss of -14.10dB,-15.70dB,-26.59dB and -26.32 dB with corresponding gains of 7.18 dBi, 8.15 dBi and 7.17 dBi and 7.26 dBi respectively. HFSS software is used for doing the MIMO antenna design. The simulated values are improved. This paper describes the simulated radiation pattern, return loss of suggested antenna are thoroughly examined.
