Optimizing Service Performance in Single Working Vacation: Queueing Theory Perspective
The integration of work and vacation, known as single working vacation (SWV), presents unique challenges and opportunities for optimizing service performance. This paper applies queueing theory to analyze and enhance service efficiency during SWV periods. We review current queueing models and their relevance to SWV scenarios, focusing on key factors such as arrival rates, service rates, and system capacity. Our analysis identifies strategies to manage these variables effectively, aiming to minimize wait times and improve service quality.By conducting a bibliometric analysis of existing literature, we trace the development and application of queueing theory in the context of SWV. This study highlights trends, gaps, and future research directions, offering practical insights for organizations implementing SWV policies. Our findings contribute to a better understanding of how to balance work demands with leisure time while maintaining optimal service performance. This research provides a comprehensive approach to addressing the complexities of service management in SWV arrangements.
