Advancements in IoT-Based Battery Monitoring Systems for Electric Vehicles

In the present scenario the usage of electric vehicles are increases due to lack of conventional resources. The increasing global popularity of electric vehicles has prompted extensive research into monitoring their performance. Electric vehicles are mainly depends on the battery for their power source. Majority of Ev's choose rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. Because using of lithium-ion battery has high energy and power density and as well as high lifespan. However, the use of lithium-ion batteries can lead to overcharging, can significantly reduce the battery lifespan and pose potential safety risks, including the risk of fire. The utilization of internet of things (IoT) technology to monitor the performance of electric vehicle batteries and notify the state of EV's leads to increase the running condition of vehicle. This paper presents an Internet of Things (IoT) battery management system (BMS) intended to reduce these dangerous circumstances. It can improve the milage of the vehicle through cell balancing system. While the GPS can help to user about identifying the charging stations at nearer location. The goal of the proposed BMS is to improve safety and extend battery life and sending notifications messages to user for further actions, based on the results.
