RoundGen: Sports Event Scheduler using Genetic and Round Robin Algorithm
The lack of a centralized and user-friendly platform for accessing comprehensive information about sports events, matches, and tournaments poses significant challenges for athletes, sports enthusiasts, and active individuals. This fragmentation results in missed opportunities, inefficient scheduling, and reduced community engagement within the sports ecosystem. To address these issues, this study introduces RoundGen, a novel sports event scheduler that integrates Genetic Algorithms and Round-Robin Scheduling to optimize fairness, resource allocation, and time management. The Genetic Algorithm enhances event scheduling through mutation and crossover operations, while the Round-Robin algorithm ensures balanced match scheduling, including strategic bye rounds for odd participant numbers. Additionally, the system incorporates data management features for tracking participant registrations and payments, enhancing accuracy and efficiency. The proposed solution provides a centralized, accessible, and feature-rich platform for efficient sports scheduling, improving engagement and organization within the sports community.
