<b>V. I. Vernadskyi and formation of the higher school of Ukraine</b>

The aim of the article: disclosure of the main ideas of V. I. Vernadskyi on the organization of hi gher education in Ukraine and the directions and means of its implementation during the liberation struggles in Ukraine. Methods: analytical-synthetic, historical-chronological, comparative-historical, historical-systemic, logical. Main results: the conceptual foundations of the organization of higher education in Ukraine during the Hetmanate period, their practical implementation by the Commission headed by V. I. Vernadskyi were examined in detail. The debatable issues that arose in the process of organizing a higher school in Ukraine, the difficulties and problems of the development of national university education are singled out. Attention is focused on those issues of the process of higher education organization in Ukraine, which were quite new for V. I. Vernadskyi: Ukrainization of existing universities and creation of new state Ukrainian universities, massification of the process of the emergence of higher educational institutions, regionalization of the higher education system in Ukraine, creation of higher education institutions education of various forms of ownership. On the example of Katerynoslav, some approaches to solving relevant issues are considered. Concise conclusions. It was concluded that a number of key issues faced by V. I. Vernadskyi during the implementation of the concept of higher education in Ukraine remain relevant at the present time. Practical meaning. In the process of research, a systematic vision of V. I. Vernadskyi’s concept of the organization of hi gher school activities in Ukraine was formed, the elements of which can be used in modern times. Scientific novelty consists in the systematic consideration of the organization of higher education in Ukraine in 1918. Type of article: theoretical, research.
