Hyperordered Structures in Pure Organic Molecular Crystals
While many of the hyperordered structures, defined as “unique nanostructures formed by dopants and vacancies, ” have been found in glass and inorganic materials, organic molecules also work as the field of hyperordered structures, mainly in 1)spaces and voids constructed in the crystal, and 2)disorder of atoms and substituents inside the crystal. Since these often induce physical property modulation in response to host-guest interactions and changes in the external environment, a detailed understanding of such organic molecule-based hyperordered structures is also very important. In this paper, we introduce our efforts to understand the hyperordered structures in butterfly-shaped molecules-based molecular crystalline hosts possessing 1D-channel structure and dielectric crystals composed of curved π-conjugated molecules.
