Synthesis, Hydrolytic Behavior, and Anticancer Activity of a PAMAM–Janus Dendrimer Conjugates with Prednisone and Ibuprofen
Abstract Herein, we report the synthesis of an ibuprofen dendron with an alkyne focal group and prednisone dendron with an azide focal group, both with polyamidoamine (PAMAM) chains. The Janus dendrimer was obtained via a Cu(I)‐catalyzed azide–alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction. Dendrons and dendrimers are stable at acidic pH values but undergo hydrolysis at alkaline pH 7.4. The Janus dendrimer conjugate with ibuprofen–prednisone had a better time of action ( t ½) than did the other dendrons. The anticancer activity studies revealed the best activity against human chronic myelogenous leukemia (K‐562) cells.
