Photorechargeable Carbon Dot/Thermoresponsive Polymer Supercapacitor
Photo-Rechargeable Supercapacitors In article number 2400533, Raz Jelinek and co-workers present photo-rechargeable supercapacitors based on an innovative concept. Carbon dots (C-dots) are embedded in a thermo-responsive phase-changing polymer (pNIPAM). Under illumination, the C-dots emit heat through the photothermal effect, inducing the hydrophilic-hydrophobic phase change of pNIPAM. As a consequence, the C-dots are released, functioning as effective redox-active electrolytes, charging the supercapacitor.
