Modified High-Gain Double-Dual Buck-Boost DC–DC Converter with Common Ground Structure
The non-common-ground structure of conventional double-dual buck-boost (DDBB) converters requires additional gate-driving circuits, leading to higher costs and increased volume. This paper presents a modified DDBB dc-dc converter designed to achieve high voltage gain, suitable for both step-up and step-down voltage conversion across a wide voltage range while maintaining a common ground between the input and output. The proposed converter offers high gain, reduced voltage stress, power-sharing (PS), and interleaving capabilities. The interleaved power-sharing structure ensures balanced current distribution, which, along with ripple reduction techniques, minimizes input current and output voltage ripple. The common-ground configuration simplifies circuit integration, particularly in applications where isolated grounds could complicate design or raise safety concerns. The experimental results obtained from the built prototype validate the performance of the proposed converter.
