Analysis and Implementation of the Quadratic T-Source Converter with Low Voltage Stress Across the Passive Components
This paper introduces a novel quadratic impedance source DC-DC converter topology. This design increases voltage gain by employing coupled inductors and supplementary components like diodes and capacitors. The device provides numerous benefits such as increased voltage amplification, decreased impact on output voltage from changes in duty cycle, consistent input current flow, reduced voltage pressure on components like switches, diodes, and capacitors, enhanced efficiency, and shared ground connection. To validate the theoretical analysis, the proposed converter’s performance is compared against that of existing conventional converters. Furthermore, a loss analysis demonstrates its effectiveness. A 200W laboratory prototype was also implemented and tested to confirm the theoretical claims. Experimental results indicate an efficiency of $\mathbf{9 3. 5 5 \%}$ for the proposed converter.
