A Modified Adaptive Complex Coefficient Filter Based on Sigmoid Function for Sensorless Control of SPM Motors With an I-F startup strategy
This research investigates a chattering-free sensorless control method for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs). Specifically, this study analyzes the performance of the estimation techniques including conventional SMO, Higher-Order Sliding Mode Observer (SMO) with FACCF (Frequency-Adaptive Complex-Coefficient Filter) and Normalized PLL (Phase-Locked Loop), and proposed SMO which is based on Sigmoid Function and FACCF. This study evaluates these methods regarding position and speed estimation accuracy, robustness, chattering, and computational efficiency. This paper aims to provide insights for practical motor control applications by examining their strengths and limitations. Results have been validated by appropriate simulations using MATLAB Simulink.
