A high Step-up Quadratic Common Ground Coupled-Inductor Based DC-DC Converter with Continuous Input Current for Renewable Energy Applications

This paper introduces a novel DC-DC converter featuring high step-up voltage gain and continuous input current. By utilizing a coupled inductor, the proposed converter achieves a significant voltage conversion ratio, making it particularly suitable for various applications, including photovoltaic systems. The converter ensures continuous input current with minimal ripple, enhancing its performance and reliability. Operating in continuous conduction mode (CCM), the converter maintains stable operation across a wide range of output loads, input voltages, and duty cycles. A comprehensive steady-state mathematical analysis is presented, along with an investigation into its behavior under boundary conduction mode (BCM). Additionally, the paper discusses the efficiency of the proposed topology. To verify the theoretical analyses and evaluate the converter’s performance, simulations are carried out using the MATLAB/Simulink environment.
