Non-isolated High Gain DC-DC Converter for Electric Vehicle Charging from Roof-top Photovoltaic Panel

In this article, a new cubic gain DC-DC converter is proposed for an Electric Vehicle charging from a rooftop photovoltaic panel. It is capable of achieving a higher voltage gain from a low-voltage solar panel, i.e. 8 times the input voltage, when it is operated at a 50% duty ratio. A comparison of the proposed topology is made with different converters, including multiple parameters that flaunt an advantage over these converters. The performance of the proposed topology is examined through MATLAB-SIMULINK in continuous conduction mode. A battery is also integrated with the designed converter topology to corroborate the charging characteristics. In addition, dynamic characteristics are analyzed while changing load values.
