Family of 500 kHz Soft-Switched High Step-Up Interleaved DISO DC-DC Converters

This article presents a new family of dual-input single-output (DISO) converters containing both hard-switched and soft-switched converters with different pros and cons. These structures are based on the conventional boost converter, interleaved configuration, and voltage multiplier cell (VMC). Soft switching operation can be achieved easily for some of these converters, by using an active clamp circuit, which has a modified connection in these converters to obtain different features. This active clamp circuit provides zero voltage switching (ZVS) and zero current switching (ZCS) conditions for both switches and diodes to be turned on and- off without switching loss. The simulated proposed DISO converter with a soft switching feature can convert $\mathbf{6 0 - 8 0} \mathrm{V}$ to 400 V for a 100- 1000 W output power range at 500 kHz. High-frequency operation with low switching losses and EMI noise make it possible to reduce the converter passive components sizes as well as the necessary filters to achieve high efficiency and high power density, in practice.
