Development of an IoT Enabled Smart Children Tracking and Monitoring System Using Map Location Services

The development of an IoT-enabled Smart Children Tracking and Monitoring System using map location services was aimed at providing real-time monitoring and enhanced safety for children. This system incorporated GPS for location tracking, sensors for health monitoring, and an emergency alert mechanism. The hardware design featured microcontrollers such as Arduino and NodeMCU, while a mobile application provided a user-friendly interface for parents to track their children's location, set geofencing boundaries, and receive emergency alerts. Testing demonstrated that the GPS tracking accuracy in urban and suburban environments had an average error of less than 5 meters, while rural areas exhibited an average error of around 12 meters. The heart rate sensor showed an accuracy of 97.5%, with a maximum error margin of 2.5%. Emergency alert response times varied from 1.5 seconds in strong Wi-Fi conditions to 5 seconds in weak GSM areas. User feedback showed high satisfaction, with an overall rating of 4.7 out of 5 for usability and reliability. The system successfully integrated real-time monitoring, health tracking, and emergency alerts to offer a comprehensive solution for child safety.
