Hybrid POF-VLC Network Downlink in Indoor Environments
This paper delves into the development of a hybrid network that integrates Plastic Optical Fiber (POF) and Visible Light Communication (VLC) with the aim of increasing the efficiency of indoor communication systems. Throughput and bandwidth results are presented for the POF link, the VLC link and the hybrid POF-VLC link using several Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) configurations in order to find out which is the bottleneck of the hybrid network, POF or VLC.
