Multi-Channel RMSA Using Spectrum Partition and Split-Spectrum Approach in Elastic Optical Network
Elastic Optical Network (EON) is a new-generation technology to deal with the increasing traffic demand. The resource management in these networks is done by Routing, Modulation, and Spectrum Allocation (RMSA). Optimum resource management techniques aim to reduce the request-blocking probability (RBP), which occurs due to spectrum continuity and spectrum contiguity constraints. In this paper, a novel Multi-Channel RMSA (MC-RMSA) algorithm has been introduced. The MC-RMSA algorithm uses the spectrum partitioning and split-spectrum approach for SA. The proposed algorithm tries to reduce the RBP by splitting the requested frequency slots and allocating them through multiple channels in the links of the same path while satisfying both spectrum constraints. The proposed algorithm is simulated and compared with the benchmark algorithm; the results show better performance of the MC-RMSA.
