Advanced Controllers for Boosting Solar Vehicle Sustainability and Efficiency
There is a huge rise in the cost of basic products and services due to the increase in crude oil prices, which also had an impact on individuals. Due to this price hike, transportation costs, inflation, and the financial burden on people are also raised. Advancements in Electric Vehicles (EVs) offer a better alternative, but their adoption has slowed down due to limited range and insufficient charging infrastructure. Utilizing renewable energy for developing Solar-powered vehicles presents a viable solution for sustainable and Eco-friendly transportation. However, low efficiency and the large size of solar panels hinder the development of such vehicles, making them less practical for extensive use. To tackle these challenges, a smart controller has been developed that can automatically switch between two batteries based on real-time voltage detection. The proposed design guarantees continuous power supply without diminishing the vehicle’s range, allowing users to drive without range anxiety while ensuring safe battery charging. The advanced controller seamlessly manages the battery power and improves the efficiency and usability of solar-powered vehicles. Automatic switching sustains battery health by preventing overcharging and extensive discharging. This auto-switch feature also prevents potential power interruptions. Additionally, the controller enables systematic monitoring of essential parameters such as voltage, current, and temperature, which are prime indicators of battery health and performance. Real-time insights on battery usage are provided for the drivers which they can use to make informed decisions about energy usage. This will certainly improve the driving experience and reduce concerns about running out of power.
