Design of Smart Water Management System for Gardens Using Arduino
Watering serves asthe most labor-intensive task and most vital practice in day-to-day agricultural or gardening operations. The quantity of water that penetrates thecrops should be under our control, no matter what the weather conditions, being it exceptionallyhumid and waterless or excessively hazy and drenched. When such crops require watering, modern irrigation systems might be an efficient way to provide it. However, there are two crucial factors to think about when watering the crops manually: the amount and the timing of the irrigation. We have proposed an automated plant watering system using ATmega328microcontrollerto replace manual tasks and ease the workload of gardeners. All of the crops in the garden or agricultural field can grow to their full capacity by setting up a smart mechanism which can irrigate the greenery cropsand also assist to preserve water. We've developed an approach which can work flawlessly with any kind of crop in the garden, whether it is a mixture of drip irrigation micro emitter and sprayer. Sprinkler systems, pipelines, and nozzles have all been utilized in combination to build a self-operatingcrop watering system. The technique is intended to identify the plants' moisture content at the moment. Water is applied in the required amount until the moisture content falls below a predefined threshold, which is set according to the water requirements of a specific plant. Plants often require morning and evening watering twice a day. To water plants twice a day, here is how the microcontroller is configured. In addition to alerting the user when there is more water in the tank, the system is made to notify its present conditionthrough smart phone applications. Hopefully, this prototype will allow everyone to enjoy growing plants without worrying about being forgetful or absent.
