Design and Implementation of CUK Power Converter Topologies for SmartLighting Applications
The Light Emitting Diodes (LED), have seen tremendous achievement in the lighting trade Because of its better qualities over traditional lighting. These attributes are long lifespan, low maintenance, environmental responsiveness, high radiant effectiveness, controllability of colour and light, reliability, and high-power density. LED driver implementation is crucial in the lighting industry. Drivers protect the LED from variations in voltage and power. This research compares different types of LED drivers with a cuk converter which operates in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). This research effort proposes a new innovative flicker free modified non-reversal DC-DC cuk LED driver. The performance features of the traditional cuk converter (C-CUK), interleaved positive output cuk converter(INRCC), CUK-SEPIC Integrated converter, non-reversal cuk converter (NRCC) and modified non-reversalCUK Converter (MNRCC) are briefly evaluated and compared. Regarding the suggested LED driver. The circuit setup for the suggested architecture is simulated using the MATLAB/SIMULINK. The outcomes are verified.
