Analyses of a Flyback Based Solar Power Optimizer and its behaviour in a PV system
This paper introduces an isolated flyback-based DC-DC converter that offers an extensive conversion ratio range. Unlike the traditional flyback converter, the proposed design features continuous input current. Additionally, this converter achieves a high step-up voltage gain, making it highly suitable for industrial, electric vehicle, and, notably, renewable energy applications, namely Solar Power optimizers (SPOs). The operational principles of the converter are analyzed. Simulation evaluations are done to confirm the performance validity of the proposed converter as an SPO. With its advantageous features, and considering the photovoltaic (PV) system simulations, this converter is particularly well-suited for renewable energy applications, especially in module level power electronics (MLPE). Keywords-DC-DC converter, isolated, module level power electronics (MLPE), solar power optimizer (SPO).
