Analysis of a High Step-up Converter with Voltage Multiplier Cell for Electric Vehicle Applications

This paper presents a new non-isolated converter configuration for achieving higher voltage gain. The configuration is developed from the conventional modified SEPIC converter to provide better performance for Electric Vehicle applications. The proposed converter has many advantages, such as low input current and less voltage stress on the switches and diodes. The operation of the proposed converter under continuous conduction mode (CCM) is examined. The detailed mathematical equations for steady-state voltage gain and the design of inductors and capacitors are provided. Also, the voltage stress and current stress for all components are discussed using appropriate mathematical equations. The proposed converter operation is analyzed under CCM mode with a power rating of 250 W using MATLABSIMULINK software. The individual component results are portrayed in this article
