Empirical Development of a Novel Solar Powered Electric Vehicles (EVs) Charging Station to Avoid Environmental Pollution

The development of solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging stations offers an environmentally friendly and cost-effective solution to address the increasing demand for renewable energy in the transportation sector. This study focuses on designing, implementing, and evaluating a novel solar-powered EV charging station to reduce dependency on fossil fuels and minimize CO2 emissions. The system included solar panels, energy storage, and efficient power management technologies. Tests showed that the station achieved an energy generation efficiency of 95% under optimal sunny conditions, with an average charging efficiency of 94.5% across different EV models. In comparison with grid-based charging, solar charging significantly reduced costs, with monthly grid charging costs amounting to $362.5, while solar charging incurred zero costs. Additionally, solar charging eliminated 1,448 kg of CO2 emissions annually per vehicle. These results demonstrate that solar-powered charging stations are not only feasible but also highly effective in reducing environmental impact and operating expenses. The prototype's ability to maintain consistent performance under varying weather conditions highlights its potential for widespread adoption.
