An Extended Topology for DC-DC Switched Z-Source Converter With Continuous Input Current
In this paper, an extended structure is suggested for the DC-DC switched impedance-source (Z-source) converter. By using the various switching plans, the suggested structure can achieve high boost factor in comparison with the conventional boost configuration. In addition, the number of inductors in the suggested configuration is low in comparison with the traditional DC-DC impedance-source converter. Continuous input current, high reliability and the existence of switches in the impedance network for applying various switching plan are the most important advantages of the suggested structure. In this paper, different operating states of the suggested structure are considered and studied. Then, the voltage gain of the structure is derived and its advantages are discussed. Finally, results obtained from simulating the suggested structure using PSCAD/EMTDC software are showcased to confirm its proper functioning.
