Smart Engineering Informatics and Digital Solutions for Efficient Produced Water Treatment with Nanocomposite Membranes

In sectors like oil and gas, where it is necessary to treat water polluted with metals, salts, and hydrocarbons effectively, produced water treatment poses serious environmental problems. This research investigates how smart engineering informatics and nanocomposite membranes can be combined to improve produced water treatment efficiency. While digital techniques, including as real-time monitoring and AI-driven optimization, are applied to lower operational costs and improve treatment sustainability, advanced materials, such as polybenzimidazole (PBI), graphene oxide (GO), and reduced graphene oxide (rGO), are used to improve membrane performance. Comparing the research to standard approaches, it shows enhanced pollutant removal, energy savings, and membrane longevity. The results provide a technique to scale up the application of digitalized nano-composite water treatment technologies
