Abstract

In this paper a low profile, miniaturized4-port MIMO antenna with DGS for dual band applications is presented. The suggested MIMO antenna design is a compact form, measuring 60×60×1.6 mm3, belies the sophistication within, where each parameter, meticulously set, contributes to its exceptional functionality. Noteworthy among its design features is the ingenious use of the stub method, which achieves remarkable isolation enhancements of up to 20dB across a broad operational bandwidth spanning from 6 GHz to 18 GHz. Central to its design ethos is the strategic integration of advanced isolation techniques, prominently featuring Defected Ground Structures (DGS) with rectangular patch antenna. As this proposed MIMO antenna has a 20dB average isolation, S11 >-25 dB. The proposed antenna's diversity performance characteristics are investigated, and the obtained values are 0.00001 and 0.00009, approximately 10dB, ±3dB for 6.96GHz and 10.52Ghz respectively. This proposed antenna system emerges as a beacon of innovation, poised to address the multifaceted encounters and opportunities presented by the dynamic landscape of modern wireless communication.
