Comparative Analysis of Switched Reluctance Motors with Different Slot Pole Combinations for Quadcopter Applications
This work focusses on the design of Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) for drone application. The motor is designed to generate 2 kg of thrust with 0.8 Nm torque. A comparison of different slot and pole combination viz 12/8, 18/12 and 24/16 to is performed to assess their suitability. The basic performance parameter such as torque along with flux linkage and inductance are analysed. The simulation is performed using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) based software. The results indicate that the 24/16 SRM configuration outperforms the other configurations.
