Study on performance of arc rib dew evaporative cooler
In this paper, a new type of dew point evaporative cooler (DP-EC) is designed, the effects of external operation conditions, inlet air velocity ratio, cooling water temperature, arc rib spacing, and arc rib length on cooling efficiency are studied. The results show that when the ratio of working air volume to inlet air velocity is 1.5, the cooling efficiency reaches 126.24%; the arc rib spacing and arc rib length have significant effects on cooling efficiency, reaching maximum at 5mm and 15mm respectively. The cooling efficiency decreases as the cooling water temperature rises. Compared with the traditional structure, the cooling efficiency of the new type of DP-EC is increased by 10.32%, 25.82%, and 13.87%, respectively, under the condition of changing the inlet temperature, ambient humidity and inlet speed.
