Evaluation of pore structure characteristics of Chang-6 tight sandstone reservoir in Wujiagou block, Ordos Basin
Reservoirs, serving as critical underground storage sites for oil and gas, play a crucial role in their exploration and development due to their macroscopic and microscopic characteristics. The study conducts an in-depth and comprehensive analysis of the Chang 6 tight sandstone reservoir within the investigated area. By employing techniques such as core sample analysis, reservoir rock thin sections, cast thin sections, and scanning electron microscopy, this study comprehensively examines the petrological characteristics, physical properties, pore structure features, and diagenetic attributes of the reservoir. Moreover, approaches such as mercury injection curve analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis, and the determination of porosity and permeability are also employed to deeply analyze the internal structure and properties of this reservoir from multiple aspects. This study not only elucidates the pore structure characteristics of the Chang 6 tight sandstone reservoir, offering reliable support for predicting and evaluating favorable reservoirs, but also provides valuable data for related fields. Through systematic and detailed experiments and analyses, it will exert a positive influence on revealing the numerical simulation of such reservoirs and optimizing the production plan, and enriches the theoretical knowledge related to the formation and preservation mechanism of underground energy resources.
