Engineering application of microseismic monitoring technology to predict rockburst in deep tunnel
Rockburst disasters of underground engineering occur frequently, there is an urgent need to carry out the effective prediction and prevention measures during the underground construction process. The study focuses on the Jinping Hydropower Project and develops a high-resolution, real-time microseismic (MS) monitoring system. Based on using MS monitoring technology and on-site rockburst record, the typical cases were analyzed to examine the connection between the characteristics of rockbursts and microseismic activity. Through a more in-depth study of the spatiotemporal patterns of MS activity and a quantitative interpretation of the MS source parameters, it becomes possible to locate potential failure zones and the precursor characteristics associated with rockbursts during the failure process. Current search results can provide significant reference for the prediction of rockbursts for similar underground engineering.
