Study of the influence of process parameters on heat and mass transfer characteristics of materials drying
In order to obtain the mechanism of the influence of process parameters on the moisture content of materials drying, the optimal process parameters of the thin-plate drier were obtained. In this paper, a three-dimensional flow and heat transfer model is established to study the effects of hot air volume flow rate and plate temperature on the internal flow field, temperature field and the moisture level in sliced materials. The results showed that the average the moisture level in sliced materials outlet increased with the augmentation of the volume flow rate of hot air, and the average moisture content of materials outlet was 11.1-13.5% when the volume flow rate of hot air inlet was 600-1200m3/h. The average moisture content at the outlet of materials decreased gradually with the augmentation of the plate wall temperature, and the average moisture content at the outlet of materials was 13.6-11.6% when the plate wall temperature was 110-140°C. Therefore, reasonable control of hot air volume flow and thin wall temperature can effectively ensure the drying process of materials’ moisture content.
