Structural design and implant application of TPMS porous metamaterials
Three-period minimum surface (TPMS) is a smooth, fully connected periodic porous structure known for its excellent mechanical properties, including Young's modulus and tensile yield strength. TPMS has many applications in dentistry, aerospace, and automotive manufacturing. This article analyzes four types of TPMS structures and compares their mechanical properties with traditional lattice structures through finite element analysis. The results indicate that compared to traditional lattice structures, TPMS structures have superior mechanical properties, with the I-WP structure having the best compressive performance. In addition, we also explored the potential applications of TPMS structures in oral implants and their advantages over existing structures.
