Membrane-assisted gas absorption method for the removal and capture of acid gases

This study is devoted to the development and optimization of a hybrid method — membrane-absorption gas separation in terms of creating a module that increases the efficiency of concentration of the target component when processing methane-containing gas mixtures at the stage of removing acid gases. The gas transport characteristics of polysulfone hollow fiber gas separation membranes were measured. Permeance measurements of the polysulfone membrane confirm its potential for use in the process. The selectivity of the membrane for CO2/CH4 and H2S/CH4 pairs was 2.97 and 2.74, respectively.
